Description
Research Triangle Park, NC based is hiring a Business Development and Sales Director with a broad range of duties, including identification of new customers, customer acquisition including proposal and contract management, customer/account management, sales planning and forecasting. Market is the North America, but sales opportunities could be global. Will work closely with engineering and product management during the sales and account management process and is expected to lead/guide the sales engineering efforts. Must be prepared to build the sales organization from the ground up. Position reports to CEO. You must be a hard working self-starter and be accountable to agreed upon goals. You need strong business development skills to build the OEM market. You must thrive in a small entrepreneurial environment and live for the “Win.”
Essential Duties
- Meet or exceed established sales targets within assigned region
- Identify and develop new business opportunities
- Must be prepared to operate as an individual contributor during the early stages of the company’s growth, as well as to support and drive longer term sales and organizational planning
- Actively identify target customers, find inroads to potential customers and create opportunities for sales presentations and proposals
- Manage the customer through the complete sales process, including the delivery stage
- Work with the Management team to create longer term sales and marketing plans, identifying and exploring new business and product opportunities and manage the tactical sales execution
- Provide status updates and reports on sales activities, market, product and customer needs
- Work closely with product management to explore new opportunities
- Attend tradeshows, conferences, and other meetings to build network and identify emerging trends and potential customer needs
- Willing to travel
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Business or Engineering. MBA a plus
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated success in technical sales, business development or account management
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Able to assist in the development of product demonstrations
- Energy and determination to succeed and think creatively
- Must be a hunter and enjoy the sales “Win”
- Willing to maintain/develop sales pipeline
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts and solutions
- Small company or start-up company sales/business development highly encouraged
- International experience a plus

Salary: Up to $80,000.00
First Year Potential: $180,000.00
